all my memories are whispers

2024

This year’s focus is squarely on exhibitions and art residences.

2023

Work continues at a more frantic pace as i look to explore what I’m calling, “carpet fields.”

Open studio // art collective

2022

focus returns to medium format oil paintings with emphasis on building a visual vocabulary.

Exhibition // art collective

2021

as time comes to an end in oslo, success with smaller gouache paintings shifts to expanding beyond limited physical space.

open studio // personal space

2020

with the shifting environments of covid i move from large oils to small gouache paintings.

Open studio // gateless

2019

first real success in painting comes from working on the ground mixing various traditional techniques in new ways. I begin painting ambidextrously.

2018

i look to break geometry and textured surfaces through repeating patterns. The painted surface begins to rise from the substrates.

2017

i break apart the previous year’s reductions with action; all-over compositions are prevalent. works become so wild they are almost textural in nature.

2016

Expressive experimentation continues with reduction. process focuses on removal of anything not pigment and compositions begin to take on minimalist ideas.

2015

i break with my photographic roots due to the very nature of recording. starting over, i look to painting as expression mixed with basic printing techniques.

2014

expression continues with breaking apart the clarity of the lens. the idea of abstraction in photography is seeded along with the concept of a muse.

2013

photographic exploration continues with photograms and gum prints, searching for ways to break past the lens/eye barrier. Works take on a surrealistic tone.

2012

i begin shifting towards artistic expressions in photography utilizing many principles learnt in photojournalism and commercial photography.

2011

studio work begins with focus on the human body. many of the resulting photographs are ruthlessly edited into the trash can.

2010

looking to shift away from conventional works in photojournalism.

lund konst/design skola

2002-2009

i work as a photojournalist and stringer for the associated press, bloomberg and newsweek.
